(2013-2015)
The target group of the project are the secondary school students between the ages 10 and 14.
The content of the education programmes in our school unfortunately focuses on the academic success of our children.
The fact that the children try to meet these kinds of needs in the street causes they are usually exposed to harmful habits in an uncontrolled way. Their spiritual and psychological developments are either ignored or postponed. Thus, our children remain poor in terms of mental and physical development and they have difficulties in participating in the social society as active individuals in the following years, and experience failures in their job and family lives.
The aim of our project:
To prepare our children for a better future by activating all the activities which will support their spiritual and physical developments with the inductive method.
Activities
1. Leadership trainings
2. Career Days
3. Artistic, sporting and cultural activities
4. Language activities
Problems of target group students
The most important problem of the target group students is their spiritual and physical development, their identity and personality developments, their physical skills and such features embodiment coincidentally. That the families start in the family continue at schools during the education period, both families and school administrators focus on the success of the students by forgetting the children’s individualities, they see them as race horses and they do not give the right of choice which causes them to be agressive, rebellious, extrovert or introvert, shy and submissive in the following years. In these periods, in which the children struggle with the adolescence age problems, the families and the school administrations need to support them much more by developing the mechanisms which will meet their special spiritual and physical needs. The children are in need of redetermining themselves in this period.
They reach the consciousness that they are different from other individuals by exploring their both spiritual and physical new features. The children live important contractions in this period. On the one hand, they try to be just their own and not to transform into others’ personalities and not to resemble, on the other hand they look for new roles and models for themselves. Adolescence covers the period in which several changes occur in the children and in their families. Adolescents start to understand others’ point of views, solve more complex problems, think more abstract concepts and they have a higher common sense in terms of moral and ethics in comparison to their previous situations.
The possibility of using drugs, joining gang activities, violence, committing crime of the adolescents is higher in this period. It is impossible for the children to deal with such problems on their own. However, human beings who are shaped according to the surrounding with their imitative features, when they get older they are the beings who shape the surrounding with their spreading attitudes. Thus,it is inevitable that the children need professional support in terms of spiritual and physical developments.
The children should know tangible and intangible valves for each age, deal with all kinds of activities and grow up without lack of anything. The most important is the educational establishment where these kinds of supports can be given in schools. And these children spend most of their time at schools. Therefore, in addition to their academical educations they should be allowed to develop themselves with the activities like theatre ,music, drawing, culture, sports and playing games.
Targets of our partnership
We can divide targets of our partnership into two groups:
Our general target
To prepare our children for a better future by inserting all activities which support their physical and spiritual developments with the inductive method and to reveal their hidden skills.
Special targets
Subjects and problems
There are a lot of researches about the fact that the young who are far from the social, cultural and sporting activities show less academic success. And these children are observed to lose motivation. The researches reveal that the children who lack these activities can not socialize and have difficulty in socializing, fail in family and business life, and have lack self-confidence and self-regard. Although most of our children have hidden skills waiting to be discovered, some of them get lost since there are no mechanisms and methods to reveal their skills.
Our approach to reaching our targets
Our project has been planned to discover our children’s hidden skills and to improve those skills, and to help them with their participations as highly self-confident individuals. Some of the activities require outer supports. Participant establishments will provide these supports from the other establishments in their regions. Especially on career days, performances, the participation of the political and administrative decision makers, popular artists, sportsmen, journalists and businessmen will be provided.
Supposed contests in the activities will be organized to provide opportunity for participating of all students by the participant establisments. The selected committee are formed of the popular people in the region will take care of these contests. The students will be given responsibilities for planning and carrying out various contests for the administrative activities.
